International trade may seem a remote issue, but when commodity prices fall dramatically it has a catastrophic impact on the lives of millions of small scale producers, forcing many into crippling debt and countless others to lose their land and their homes.
Too many farmers in the developing world have to contend with fluctuating prices that may not even cover what it costs to produce their crop
It is a forum for young people to consider and discuss the human issues surrounding global trade. In our view, the globalised economy brings development and prosperity that is not always equally shared, and can sometimes result in the unnecessary and unjustifiable exploitation of people. Rather than merely condemn, we would like to encourage readers to contemplate the meaning of development.
The issues are complex!

Baby Milk Action
What is
the campaign about?
Nestle Aggressively market baby
milk products to mothers, and health workers in developing countries
This practice has been condemned
by WHO & UNICEF
Water mixed with the milk product
is often dirty, this leads to diarrhoea and often death
According to UNICEF, 4000 babies
die from unsafe bottle feeding
Baby milk products can cost over
50% of the Family income
This leads to over dilution of the
milk product, leading to malnutrition and death.
